Client: Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute

Main Contractor: Wallis Construction
Project: 1st floor fit out
MLM Ireland were approached by RKD Architects to undertake the role of Assigned Certifier support, on the 1st floor fit-out of the Trinity Biomedical Science Institute.
At the design stage of the scheme, we attended a number of design team meetings with the Architect and discussed the proposed layout scheme with them, using our knowledge of the Building Regulations as well as general construction and building surveying experience. This was to ensure that the proposal met the current requirements of the Building Regulations. As part of our service we also undertook a detailed plan and services review and we offered a guidance report around the provision of fire safety, disabled access and building services installations.
Prior to commencement on site, we had prepared a site inspection strategy, based on the duration of the project and this formed the core of our “Inspection Plan” that was submitted and found to be acceptable. We attended contactors design meetings, where we were able to offer guidance on constructional and regulatory matters, as well as delivering a detailed site inspection report to both contractor and architect following our visits.
We requested additional Ancillary Certifiers Certificates on aspects where required, following our site inspection and ensured that all relevant Certifiers Certificates and Commissioning Certificates were submitted prior to authorising the issue of the Completion Certificate.
