Completion: January 2015
MLM Ireland were approached by RKD Architects to undertake the role of Assigned Certifier support for the new A&E department at Wexford General, creating 17 treatment spaces for emergency patients, compared to the four previously provided which is expected to result in greatly improved admission times and a better overall environment for patients, their families and staff.
The existing delivery suites were demolished as part of the new maternity unit and a temporary link corridor formed from the existing maternity ward to the new delivery suites during the phased construction of the project, which involved some temporary relocation of services at various stages. The capacity in the delivery suites at Wexford General comprises five single-bed delivery rooms, compared to the previous situation, where there were two two-bed delivery rooms.
